Special Sermons:

Dr. J. Phillips Noble's sermon for Scottish Heritage Sunday entitled "Seeing Presbyterians through a Scottish Lens," preached at First (Scots) on September 16, 2001.  Dr. Noble prefaced his sermon with a moving statement on the September 11 tragedy.

Dr. Massie's sermon entitled "Sexuality, Scripture, and Ordination," preached on July 15, 2001, in response to the 2001 General Assembly's action that would, if approved by a majority of the presbyteries by June of 2002, permit the ordination of homosexual persons.

Dr. Massie's sermon entitled "On Doing What We Can," delivered in Anderson Auditorium at Montreat, NC, on May 27, 2001, at the annual Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans service sponsored by the Montreat Scottish Society.

Affiliated for many years with the PCUSA, the Protestant Hour is an ecumenical organization broadcasting sermons by well-known American preachers.  It has a rich website that allows visitors both to hear and to read recent sermons and to access hundreds more in its archives.

Like the Protestant Hour, the ecumenical Chicago Sunday Evening Club has for decades broadcast sermons by well-known American preachers representing a wide spectrum of denominations and faith traditions. It maintains an online catalog of hundreds of these sermons.  Some are sold through special order, but many may be downloaded free.
