This week I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Pastor Pere Vil, who serves as a the lead pastor with and for our mission partners in La Gonave, Haiti. Even though our annual medical mission team was unable to make their winter trip to Haiti due to a significant measure of civil unrest, it is good to see that such relationships remain strong.
This past Sunday, at our congregational meeting, John McNeill, chair of the Finance Committee, presented the 2019/20 operating budget. You will be pleased to know that in our budget there remains a strong financial commitment not only to our mission partners in Haiti and to the Bill Rice Clinic, but also to our various other mission partners and supported agencies.
Please know that every couple of weeks we highlight within the Kirk News and the announcements in our Sunday bulletin one or more of our supported ministries in an effort to better understand and celebrate the good work that is happening locally and around the world. We call it: Missions Matter.
Have a blessed week and enjoy learning more about some of the many wonderful things that we are blessed to do in Christ’s name. Indeed, as someone once said, it is not only what we receive, but also what we are able to give of ourselves that is a sign of God’s blessings each day.
In Christ’s Service,
