First (Scots) Presbyterian Church will host its annual Parramore Preaching Series on Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22, 2017 and welcome renowned leader and speaker, Dr. Rodger Nishioka. Dr. Nishioka is one of the most sought after and inspiring preachers in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He was born in Honolulu, raised in Seattle at the Japanese Presbyterian Church, and is the son of a retired Presbyterian minister. He taught at Columbia Theological Seminary for 15 years, teaching pastors to be leaders in church educational ministry, specializing in particular on youth and young adult ministry.
Dr. Nishioka will be our guest leader four times during this 2017 Parramore Preaching Series:
- He will preach on Sunday morning, October 22, at the 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. worship services at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street, Charleston, South Carolina, 29401.
- He will host a Church Leaders Luncheon Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First (Scots) and speak on “Reshaping Christian Education: new Ways of Faith Formation.”
- Sunday evening, October 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. he will speak at an evening Keynote/Dinner at First (Scots) on “21st Century Reformation: Eight Ways Ministry is Changing.”
