Dr. Harold C. Warlick, Jr. is a native of North Augusta, South Carolina. He is a graduate of  Furman University, B.A, 1968, Harvard University Divinity School, S.T.B. 1971, and Vanderbilt University Divinity School, Doctor of Divinity (D. Div.), 1974. He is a retired elder in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Dr. Warlick has had a distinguished career in academia and ministry. He served as Dean of the Chapel, Professor of Religion and Philosophy, and Chair of the Religion and Philosophy Department at High Point University during a 23-year career there. Upon his retirement from that university in June 2012, he was named Emeritus Dean of the Chapel and the pulpit in the chapel sanctuary was named for him.

During the summer months, he serves as the Resident Minister of Blowing Rock Methodist Church, Blowing Rock, North Carolina. This is a multi-denominational congregation administered by the Blowing Rock Civic and Religious Association and composed of over 400 affiliate members from 14 states.

Dr. Warlick is the author of 17 books and over 30 articles, sermons, and essays in religious periodicals and magazines. He served as Senior Minister of churches in South Carolina, Texas, and North Carolina. He and his wife Diane reside in High Point, North Carolina and they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. Dr. Warlick will preach on Sunday morning, October 18 at both services and at an evening service on Sunday, October 18 and Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
